Psion

Hit Points
Hit dice: 1d6 per psion level
Hit points at 1st level: 6 + your Constitution modifier
Hit points at higher levels: 1d6 (or 4) + your Constitution modifier per psion level after 1st

Proficiencies
Armor: None
Weapons: Simple melee and ranged weapons
Tools: None

Saving throws: Intelligence, Charisma
Skills: Choose two from Arcana, Deception, History, Investigation, Insight, or Persuasion

Equipment
You start off with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • a psionic focus (orb)

Spellcasting
As a master of psionic magic, you can innately cast a small number of spells without the need for material, somatic, or vocal components. You do not need to prepare spells to cast them, but you must spend the required number of power points and be able to cast spells of that level.

Spellcasting Ability
Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your psion spells, since your innate intellectual ability allows you to create incredible effects with a mere thought. You use Intelligence whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a psion spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier

Spellcasting Focus
You can use an orb as a spellcasting focus for your psion spells.

You “create” a spell slot by spending power points. You can only create one “slot” of 6th level and above per day.

Psionic Recovery
Once per day during a short rest, you can regain a number of power points equal to your level. At 11th level this increases to twice your level.

Psionic Augmentation
As you gain levels, you can augment your spells by spending additional power points when you cast a spell. You gain 2 augmentations at 2nd level, then 1 additional augmentation at 6th, 10th, and 14th level. You can not augment a cantrip.

Augment Duration
By spending a number of power points equal to the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can double the duration of that spell provided that it’s not instantaneous.

Augment Penetration
By spending a number of power points equal to twice the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can impose disadvantage on any saves made to avoid or negate that spell.

Augment Defenses
By spending a number of power points equal to the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can gain either a bonus to AC equal to the level of the spell you cast, or advantage on saving throws for a number of abilities of your choice equal to the level of the spell you cast until the end of your next turn.

Augment Sight
By spending a number of power points equal to the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you gain darkvision out to 60 ft. for a number of minutes equal to the level of the spell you cast. If you already possess darkvision you instead have the range of it increased by 60 ft. for the same duration.

Augment Duplicate
By spending a number of power points equal to the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can summon a spectral duplicate of yourself within 40 feet that lasts for 1 minute. The duplicate looks and sounds like you but does not stand up to physical inspection. Any creature touching or attacking your duplicate immediately dispels it. While your duplicate lasts you can cast any spell using your duplicate as the origin.

Augment Repeating
You must be at least 6th level to select this augment. By spending a number of power points equal to three times the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can repeat the spell again against the same target or a different one in range.

Augment Resistance
You must be at least 6th level to select this augment. By spending a number of power points equal to the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you gain resistance to all damage until the end of your next turn.

Augment Teleportation
You must be at least 10th level to select this augment. By spending a number of power points equal to twice the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can use your movement to teleport a number of feet equal to your base speed. This feature lasts a number of minutes equal to the level of the augmented spell.

Augment Psionic Burst
You must be at least 14th level to select this augment. By spending a number of power points equal to twice the level of a spell you cast that’s 1st level or higher, you can emit a psionic burst in a 50 foot radius sphere centered on you. Each creature you choose within range must make an Intelligence save or take 1d8 psychic damage per level of the original spell, taking half damage on a successful save.
