The Corellian Calendar

”Corellon was a kind and loving father, and He gave time to each of His Children in equal turn.” – from the ballad “The Lord of the Fey”

The Corellian Calendar is primarily used in Melagro by the elves and eladrin who reside there, although such fey folk abroad will also make use of it. The calendar is based around the alternation of day and night, with the new day beginning at sundown. Each one of Corellon’s Children has His or Her own month of 24 days. There are 16 months in a year, so the Corellian year ends up being nearly a month longer than the Elten Year.

The months are named after the children, and are (in order):

Ethannidoln
Arhy’nom
Irmada
Danavar
Etrial
Leitam
Neshanie
Lolth
Ekria
Ekalra
Doru
Arbistha
Murcha
Ardondacethna
Sypro
Dalwen

The years are enummerated by eras, each one roughly 1,000 years long. The current year is 1001 of the Era of the Long Silence. Previous eras (and their lengths) include:

The Era of the White Sun – 1,143 years
The Era of the Bright Waters – 967 years
The Era of the Black Blood – 1,004 years
The Era of the Green Eyes – 1,222 years
The Era of the Lonely Home – 1,141 years
The Era of the Ghostly Sky – 1,056 years
The Era of the Verdant Isles – 1,301 years
